Course

A Course is an ordered sequence of pages with its own metadata (title, description, audience). Where a page composes nodes/facets/problems/components into one document, a course composes multiple pages into a full learning path — the unit a student enrolls in or works through from start to finish.

Like page-to-node references, a course's page references can pin to a specific revision of each page for stability, so a course keeps working the way you built it even if a referenced page is later edited elsewhere.

Curriculum

A Curriculum is a named selection of learning objectives (see the taxonomy browser) that a course declares it covers. It's scoped to exactly one course, and it only selects from the existing official taxonomy of objectives — it doesn't define new ones.

Concretely: after you've built a course's pages, a curriculum is where you declare "this course covers these specific objectives" — which is what lets the course show up in objective-based search and lets a student check their own progress against a concrete, checkable list of goals rather than just "did you read the pages."

Official vs. user-generated

Both courses and curricula follow the same official/user-generated split as nodes and facets: both live in the database either way, distinguished only by the is_official flag — official ones are authored by the EulerVertex team, user-created ones by anyone in the Studio.
